Eggs, bunnies and an empty tomb

When everything looks ugly and bad and totally hopeless, think of chicken eggs. Or fluffy bunnies. Or an empty burial plot, like a tomb. Why? Because chicken eggs, especially the pretty brown or light blue kind, remind us of new life. And soft, white bunnies remind us of innocence and vitality. And an empty burial plot, especially a tomb, reminds us of the one that Jesus borrowed for three days before he rose from the dead. This is the Easter story.

The Bible tells us, "that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter and then to the Twelve." (I Corinthians 15:3-5) Why would he do such a thing? Because God's love is that great and Jesus is that obedient; that makes Jesus the saviour of the world.
