Minnesota State Fair
"The Great Minnesota Get Together"
Every year, the 12 day fair draws hundreds of thousands of people not only to taste all kinds of food, often fried and on a stick, but also to witness such events as butter-block sculpting, wild carnival rides, grandstand music performances, livestock and animal husbandry exhibitions and more.
You can even witness the birth of farm animals, right at the fair in the Miracle of Birth Center.
The weather has been exceptionally good this year and recent improvements to public transport at the fair make it easier than ever to enjoy a great time. The fair's website has all the details for planning your trip - http://www.mnstatefair.org.
One of my family's favorite things to do is to walk the Mighty Midway and see all the "easy looking" games that "you can win" but don't be deceived, they're harder than you might think. After a good long walk and all the chocolate milk we can drink for $1, we eat elephant ears in the shade next to thousands of other fairgoers.
It's an experience the whole family can enjoy. So take a trip to St Paul and check it out!
