Vintage Band Festival 2017

Mark your calendars, check your closets, it’s time for the Vintage Band Festival. This year’s brass extravaganza is a one-day event in downtown Northfield at Bridge Square on July 29 from 10 am-10 pm. Come dressed to the nines in period clothing, costumes, or long contra dance skirts. Kick up your heels or clap your hands as you enjoy the music presented by 11 bands from near and far.

New this year is the Fife and Drum Corps from Historic Fort Snelling. Joining them will be bands performing anything from Mozart to traditional German to New Orleans jazz to Celtic, Scottish, and Irish music. If you like variety you will find it here. Trumpets, woodwinds, and percussion are joined by a little fiddling and Motown rock ‘n roll thrown in for good measure. Come for the traditional brass or the modern and funky. The organizers promise a family-friendly day. Besides bands performing, you will also find food trucks and the Riverwalk Market Fair. Come rain or shine for a wonderful day in downtown Northfield.
