Seasonal Volunteerism

Many non-profits and charities see a surge in seasonal donations and interest in volunteering around the holidays. Northfield is no exception. Please consider how you can be a part of some great local causes and volunteer your time this year.

I am a member of Rotary International and our local Northfield Rotary puts on a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, every year for the last 19 years. Sign up to run on our club website northfieldrotary.org. Money raised goes to our club's charitable causes such as End Polio Now and our strong Youth Exchange program. Part of the Turkey Trot day is also accepting donations for the local Food Shelf at the CAC.

Speaking of the CAC, Operation Joy is under way again this year. This is a widely supported program across our community with year round activity that culminates in December. I have helped wrap presents, clean up empty boxes, transport items to storage and I recommend this to everyone in our community. Check out the event information and sign up to help on their website.

There are so many great programs happening in our community because of the tireless efforts of so many local champions. My hope is for all of us to carry on the vision to make Northfield a welcoming and wonderful place to live and work.
