It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
At least it is in Red Wing. Once again, the day after Thanksgiving, November 25, Red Wing will host their annual Holiday Stroll, a special day full of activities old and new. Horse-drawn wagon rides, downtown storefront window dressing contests, Santa and Mrs. Claus capping the holiday parade, and the downtown Lighting Ceremony - all this and more for the entire family.
To add to the fun, this year this special day will usher in a new weekend festival, the Yuletide Villagefest from November 25-27. It will feature a village market in the European Holiday Tradition with "foods, spirits, music, gifts, and events." Be sure to be a part of a new local tradition. For more information go to http://www.yuletidevillagefest.org and http://www.redwingstroll.com and on Facebook http://facebook.com/holidaystroll
If you are in the market for fine art and Red Wing doesn't have what you are looking for, then check out Mankato's 14th Annual GSR Fine Art Festival on December 2-3 at the Verizon Wireless Center. More than 45 visual artists will be joined by musicians performing live. Come see what these local professionals have to offer - musicians, potters, painters, photographers, jewelers, and sculptors, as well as art work in glass, leather, wood, and fiber. For more information go to www.gsrfineartfestival.com.
