Open House Extra Vaganza!

For the last couple of years, Edina Realty has been promoting "Open House Extravaganza" events in the spring and fall and a few other select occasions throughout the year. "Extra" marketing and exposure are given to drive traffic to our open houses and everyone has a "vaganza*" time. 

Finding the open houses isn't difficult, since we Realtors are usually doing our best to make it difficult to not know about them, but just in case you need a tip, use NorthfieldOpenHouses.COM to see what's open around here this week. If Northfield isn't what you're into, then use the "Location" box on the left to search for a different city or zip code and the magic map will pull up whatever suits your fancy. Then make your own itenerary by hovering over the little house icons on the map and clicking "Add to Directions". You can generate your own map and directions and you're off and running.  

Now, how about what to do at the actual open house? Well, what are you looking for? Most people are comparing the house to their vision of comfort, features and affordability while attempting to get a grasp on the housing market. Is this house a good deal - you may ask yourself. Why is it a higher or lower price than the one around the corner? Can I add a pool, remove the shed, finish the basement, or raise the roof** up in this place? Better yet, ask the Realtor who is hosting the open house.

*Vaganza - adj. Having to do with the amazing, spectacular, and unusual, but in a good way. Can also be used as exclamatory response similar to "Bazinga" but without the pranks.  More commonly - "Vaganza! This house is priced really well!"

**Raise the roof - exp. Multiple meanings - 1) Add another story to the house 2) Throw a killer house warming party 3) Make a simple dormer window in the attic so I can sit and look out the window at my neighbors.
